Sweating

I've been on Cipralex (10mg) for 5 years - recently increased dosage to 20 mg.  I'm having heavy sweats ( some days &  nights). I see that sweating is a possible side effect of Cipralex. Is this normal and, does it eventually go away?  Thank

    Hi Karin,

I've been on cipralex about the same time as you & recently gone back up from 15 to 20mg. The initial heavy sweats do ease, but you do tend to sweat more so than you would normally on this med, & I do still get night sweats. If you have depression & anxiety you tend to have more random sweats anyway. I must say this doesnt cause as bad sweats as other anti depressants I have had before though. hope this helps. x

    Hey Karin,

Hope you're going well on the Cipralex. I've only just switched over to them 2 days ago (from Sertraline) which wasn't working for me. Sertraline made me sweat also. If I rushed anywhere I would break into a sweat as soon as I got there or if I got too warm, same thing. Really annoying! Am expecting this will probably be the same with the Cipralex but it's better than feeling depressed. I carry a paper fan with me in my bag everywhere I go now and that's been a lifesaver! I whip it out and cool myself off and it really helps. All the best :-)
