Sweating all the time

Hi I recently started Sertraline 50mg after a particularly bad panic episode that didn't subside. I have been on Citalopram and Mirtazapine in the past and I still take Diazepam 2mg should my panic attacks be really bad.

I have noticed however since starting Sertraline last week I have been having hot flashes and I am sweating throughout the day and night. I feel waves of intense heat and I have to have a fan on and my window open all day because it's just that unbearable. The weather isn't even that hot, maybe 18 celcius (64 f). I am worried it could be something wrong with the medication or it isn't agreeing with me? I heard about night sweats but these are happening throughout the day with no reprieve, I end up drenched and have to change clothes at least twice a day, any thoughts on this would be appreciated

Thank you 😃

Hi kyle, as annoying as it is the flushes and the sweating are not a cause for concern, they are unfortunately a side effect. I suffer from them and are often asked if I have been out in the sun, hopefully they will settle down for you, if you are seeing improvements with your panic and anxiety then just try and work through them, if not or if you cannot live with this side effect over any help the meds are giving you then speak to your Dr
