Sweating easily on Sertraline

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi, I've been on Sertraline (100mg) for about eight months, started on 50mg for a month and then moved up, I find I sweat at the least bit of effort, and in the mornings, with no effort, anyone else get this ? I thought it would go away after a couple of months, but it's still here.

Sweats one minute, cold chills the next. Never the same one day to another! In some wasy this isn't too bad as it is often the body moving out toxins in a gentle way.

Hope you feeel OK about it?

Hi Philip, thanks for the reply, I get this a lot, but I suppose it's something I've got to live with as the benefits of Sertraline outweigh the sweating and chills.

'benefits'  Well said jwh; glass half full thinking. I'm coming up to week 4 on this 50mg dose and coming to accept that I have to adapt to being 'different'. One thing my Doc said to me when I started was do vigourous exercis every day and I have to say I find that hard as I'm old and cranky. However, if I actually get out and do stuff and a bit of Gym and cycling then I feel so much better and sleep better too.

I don't do as much as I should when it comes to exersice, and I'm hoping  to taper down the Sertraline with the thoughts of stopping, not right now as my wife and I are off to Florida next month, so I'll wait until I come back, then talk to my GP.
