Sweet Taste in Mouth...

Hi, community hope all are well! For a few years now i have had on and off a "Sweet Taste" in my mouth! Also, this happens with no eating of anything sweet, or sugary. Curious, i got a checkup and results are NEG for Diabetes. I am thin, not overweight. Does anyone have this or have an idea what it could be? Thanks!

Ive never heard of that but I wouldve thought that NEG when it comes to results -from what youve put meant NEGATIVE. . I dont know though -not being a nurse - maybe try googling it

Hi sarajo! thanks for the reply. Yes, the NEG i meant stands for a negative diabetic result. I never did the A1-C test, but, docs only order that if you test positive for diabetes. I will keep on pursuing this. 😂

Dont know if you are male or female but a sweet taste in the mouth can sometimes be caused by fluctuating hormones, especially female hormones.

Do you have any gastric reflux? that can cause this sensation as well.

As long as your sweet taste is "on and off" it isnt really a problem, but if it gets to be an overpowering sense and constant or increasing then you may need more tests or a referral to an ENT consultant.

You should visit the doctor & do some more tests. The diabetes are negative, than on and off sweet taste might happen because of your diet or gastric reflux.
