Swelling??

I had my rthr on 5th jan so early days still i know,what im a bit concerned about is the swelling in my right leg! I've had trouble with bad pain in my knee since i was in the hosp but a doc said its prob where my hip pain has now gone and im now starting to feel pain where all the other joints were being used wrong etc. Bellow my knee is fine usual size but above the stockings my knee is like an elephants! and my thigh is also slightly swollen.i honestly feel at the mo like im taking the painkillers for my knee as my hip is no problem pain wise.is bad swelling usual?

    I had my second hip done 1/3 .I have some referred pain but it is still minimal compared to what you are describing.Does massage or heat or ice help?if it does not improve let your Do know and ask how to deal with it as an issue.Have youstarted physical therapy?

      I haven't been referred for physio since being discharged but i am doing a sheet of exersizes given to me by the hosp at home.i have a g.p app tom to talk about physio so i will show the doc my leg then.i am having to use an ice pack in bed at night as that is when it aches the most

      I missed my PT appt on Thursday,that's what drugs will do for me.I was supposed to have an appt today and they had cancelled it due to missing Thursday appt so I won't be seen until Friday.I asked them if they did a courtesy call and they did It to my old land line.Bad start,.How are you doing.Im doing leg exercises and walking with the walker.The walking is going better.I did some Casino walking,it was awesome .Large walking Area with easy seating.It was on day 9,have also been walking our driveway which is super long.Keep in touch ,it's nice comparing notes

    Hi kel. I'm exactly the same as you. My op was also the 5th January. If it wasn't for leggings I would have to be bottomless clothes wise. I have had really good help and support from these forums. And today I spoke to my Gp, who has solved any other concerns I had. Keep going girl. X

      Hi Elanor,my op leg is also swollen more so than with past surgeries.Im going to do a lot more walking around the block today.Its been raining here for the last couple of days so need to take advantage of good walking weather.
