Swelling 5 Month post op

I don't know if this will help anyone but you can help with the swelling by wearing what they call compression shorts.  I got a pair of under armour long shorts and they do help also my Ortho surgeon said that each of us have a fine line between doing do much and not enough and that includes  drinking to much and not enough water.  You just have to figure out what works for you.

For what it's worth has anyone checked your blood chemistry? It might just help

Bad luck- sometimes these things go on a bit too long! And good luck for the future

I think sue is referring to  a CRP test. They aren't very useful though. They can tell you that you have some inflammation, but not why. I had a huge trading in the summer last year, but nobody could find a single cause for it. They gave up in the end when it corrected itself - decided it must have been a result off my broken ankle. But infection is one of the causes of swelling - which is what they were trying to find because infection would be a serious problem. But like I said - it doesn't tell you where or why! I would think if there was an infection you would have more than some swelling and they would notice other symptoms.
