SWELLING

I am one week post-op thr and doing well. No one mentioned swelling and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice to help reduce it. I realise it's still early days and hopefully it's just a time thing.

My swelling was knee & theigh ankle and foot. Shoes didn't fit for weeks.
Walking icing and and leg exercises help. Keep the blood and oxygen moving. Also purchased a air compression boot similar to hospital type. Battery operated on Amazon. Plastic air fill similar to a small inner tube . It fits over foot up to theigh. The squeezing from that also help releive pain and swelling.

Depends on where it is, Ice and Elevate is the normal 'cure'.
Swelling is common, the operation is brutal, and the leg muscles have been moved around a lot.
Swelling also occurs in the pelvis where they attach the acetabular component, often leading to temporary leg lengthening (Leg Length Difference).
Best wishes

E-elevate
I am praying this will keep swelling down and even though you may feel better. Be sure not too over do it.
