Swelling after laparoscopic surgery?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I had laproscopic surgery on Thursday to remove right ovary and tube (15cm cyst).  I'm recovering at home now but having so much swelling and "puffiness" in my stomach and am worried/wondering if this is normal and how long it typically persists?

Yes perfectly normal. They've pumped you full of gas and that has to disperse and all the extra fluid and swelling from the op has to go.

Don't worry just rest up and it will go a little every day x

    Hello Crystal,

GIve it time. The gas needs to get out of you and your muscles need to recover.   I had my surgery 5 weeks ago and just now is it starting to go down.  I still have some puffiness, but not hard like a bowling ball like back then.  Yopu will feel better in about a week, just keep walking to get the gas moving.
