Swelling and Bloating/Soy and Menopause formula

HI Ladies, I just wanted to report that I am on a great formula that has done wonders with stopping my heat flahses, I have not had one in 2 weeks! I am not sure if I can give a brand name, but if you guys are interested, I will send the ingredients, however, on a negative side I am having a lot of puffiness and swelling. I have learned very recently that my blood pressure medication Cozar is responsible for my weight gain and puffiness that I blamed on peri. Also, its really important that we realize that yes Peri causes a lot of problems, but its also good to get checked out because everything is not related to peri. However, I suspect my joint pain is due to peri, but, I am still getting it investigated just to make sure.  My joint pain/swelling started right at the same time that peri started. But, at least the hot flashes are reduced significantly.

not sure of your history of joint pain, but do you eat a lot of sugar:  breads, sweets, pasta?? in the last couple of years refined sugars have caused me to have joint pain and bloating in my stomach.  i'm finally put the two together.  they also cause hot flashes for me.

It's interesting that you mentioned this, tomorrow I am starting the Atkins diet. It's no sugar, and even when I complete induction it's zero sugar, it's the maintenance phase. I definitely plan on eliminating the sugar because I am positive that it's the culprit. Thanks for reinforcing that sugar issue.

for some reason i have very little appetite since i had 2 major (i thought they were heart attacks) panic attacks 2 months ago.  i eat very little, i'm afraid to eat big meals.  i really think that what brings on the "heat", which brought on the panic, was a pasta dish - spicy and the pasta. i've been eating bland ever since, and little to no sugar.  i supplement with the atkins shakes and bars for nutrients - and no sugar.   i think you might feel much better without the sugar.

I agree 100 percent, I started Atkins today and I expected by now that I would be climbing the walls! But, I am feeling really good, I had the Atkins meal with the Mexican dinner, it was 7 grams of carbs and tasted really good and I hate an Atkins shake and an atkins bar, all if it was really, really yummy, no feelings of deprivation, and I am going on a wal, I can see myself being successful and I cant wait to see how the lack of sugar is going to help my joints.  I heard that back in the early 80s and 90s when Atkins first came out it was miserable, thank goodness for the shakes and bars.

Interested that you have had no flushes, without revealing a brand name, can you say what you have not included in your diet/included in your diet, that has meant no hot flushes, PLEASE!  I would love to know and I am sure I am not alone! xxxx

Sure: here goes black cohish: 160 me soy isoflavones: 60 my flaxseed extract 333 mg, photo female proprietary brand which contains. Don quai extract, red clover, trio folic pratase, licorice extract. I also drink the black cohosh tea in the afternoon. I just eliminated all the sugars, white bread, white flour too. I only eat the complex carbs before I exercise. I am eating lots of vegetables. I'm only eating apples, blueberries, in small quantities. All of this and exercise are tremendous. I am hopeful that eliminating sugar will help the joint swelling and pain in my shoulders.
