Swelling ankles

When I wake up feet are fine but within hours they start to swell and are very tight and actually start to hurt as the day progresses. Would welcome any opinions. Only other time this was happening was on the medication amlodipine. I no longer take this. The swelling has recently occurred over the last week.

    What are you taking now? It would be best if you saw your doctor.

    Best to check with your doctor especially if you are on other medication.  The hot weather and lots of standing could contribute to the swelling too.

    Tasma, you might have some fluid retention from the hot weather in which case you might find a diuretic helps.  Meanwhile eat plenty of celery and asparagus (both natural diuretics) and make sure you drink plenty of water.  It would be wise to check it out with your GP though
