Swelling in Arm

Hello everyone. My 75 year old Uncle has Parkinson’s Disease & has been admitted to hospital with swelling in his arm & hand. I went to visit him today & staff wouldn’t disclose any information with regard to his condition. Uncle has no idea why he is in hospital so can’t tell me. His arm & hand is very swollen & he has several ‘ink markers’ on his forearm (similar to the markings made by Dr’s prior to an operation) just wondered if anyone had any idea what the problem could be.

They may be going to operate on tendons in the wrist or hand. If there is restricted movement. On the forearm the same may also apply. I have had problems in my fingers and they operated on my hand to give back movement.

My condition is PsA and the tendons become stiff and restrict movement. There may also be marks to show veins.

I am not a Doctor or Specialist so this is my opinion. You may be able to get your Mam or Dad, whose Father it is to ask regards your Grandad, you will find out that way I suppose.

Thanks for your reply Bob. My Mum will hopefully get to speak to the Dr’s on Tuesday. Uncle’s fingers, hand & forearm still extremely swollen & to make matters worse he has now developed a nasty chest infection.  He’s on antibiotics now so fingers crossed his condition improves.  Hope your condition improves Bob. Kind Regards, Charlotte
