Swelling or weight gain?

I'm almost 8 weeks after surgergy to correct stage 4 recetocle and cystocele. Normal my belly was pretty flat, not total flat. I really can't tell if it's from not much activity, or if it some swelling. I'm sure I've gain from so much laying around. Didn't know if anyone else had this problem. To me my belly kinda feels rubbery. I know such a silly question, being that this has been such a hard recovery.smile

Not a silly question at all. I gained a lot of weight post op,think it was from taking things very easy and yes recovery was much harder than I ever thought it would be but it does get better and I've gradually lost the extra weight I put on. Keep on taking it easy until you feel 100% better, then your belly will go back to normal and your weight will come down x

That's good to know. What type of exercise did you do? I've been swimming in pool for the last week, every other day for 30 minutes. Still only short walks. About a mile a day, but not all at once. Breaking it up with several walks a day with the dog. Scared to over do it.smile

More walking and gardening but took a long time before I actually got back to doing any of it. Do what feels right for you, always listen to your body,if it feels you've overdone it then you probably have. Take care and hope you feel back to your pre op self (minus prolapse obviously) very soon

Thank you, I'm glad you mention gardening. That's my favorite pass time. It's hard to walk by the weeds and not pull them out. Hopefully soon I can get back to it. How many months did it take you? TH

Took me quite a long time but that wasn't down to recovery from my op. I had a year of ill health, think my immune system took a battering after the op but have been really well this year and have got back to pulling weeds and growing stuff

I am almost 10 weeks post op. This has been the hardest recovery ever. After they brought me out of surgery they refused to give any of the drugs I am dependent on. I quit breathing 5 times. I was begging the nurses and my daughter to kill me.

Anyway, my friend I am just know able to hold my stomach in. I think it is because my stomach muscle just now started to work and took a long time to heal. Also I have lost 15 of the 35lbs that I gained. I cut sugar and carbs from my diet tho and it is speeding up my healing. Please keep me updated girls. Thank you.
