Hi I recently had a hemorrhoidectomy 7 days ago and I am wondering if anyone can help me know when the post op swelling starts to go down, it's currently the size of a small grape and is very tender. Any info would be appreciated

Also does anyone know how long I can keep taking stool softeners for? It's my last day of prescribed lactulose and would like obviously keep my stools as soft and easy to pass as possible whilst I'm still healing. Is there any over the counter ones I can take (UK) that'll help but not cause any problems
