Swelling wont go down ORIF 1 week

I broke all three ankle bones and dislocated it. I had to have emergency ORIF surgery on 8-17 . today I woke up with my ankle swelling that wont go down even though I am elevate and ice. It is really tight on the left side where my stiches are. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

    So sorry you are going through this. The swelling is normal. If it doesn't go down some I would def call your surgeon just to be sure. Is it elevated very high?

    I'm almost 6 weeks from ORIF (no dislocation though...so sorry) and I still get swelling. By the end of the day, I HAVE to get my leg up.

    For sure, if your toes start to turn color, call the doctor, but I'm learning that swelling is now a part of my life.
