Switched from xanax to diazepam for withdrawal feel so much worse

I switched from xanax 1 mg at night to the equivelent dose of diazepam sleep  has been for the most part ok but during the day i am off  balance somewhat and just have a heavy feeling. Feel worse than the xanax.my dr would not give me 2 mg tabs said they don't come that way.New doctor see what happens I really need to start reducing but hard on 10 mg.also I have some vertigo. please I need some help here.

    Hi Carol, sorry to hear you feel this way.   Valium (diazepam) most certainly comes in 2mg tablets, I know this cause I'm on it.  I wish I wasn't, just becasue of how addictive it is.  I tried to withdraw a couple of weeks ago, but did it way to fast..so I'm back on it again, but I'm starting to feel better.  REMEMBER:  It's your body, you are the one in control and keep on marching on till you find a Dr. who will help you.  Feel better soon!  If your body is use to Xanax and it helps you then insist that you go back on...You know your body and it's needs better than any one else!

      Thank you lulu I went on the valium as it is easier to reduce than the xanax. I want off this stuff hoping I will return to normal as I took the xanax mainly for sleep  caused by anxiety. All of which got progressively worse.I am to a new DR today for blood work my appointment with him is on Monday hope he will help many drs will not give scrips for benzos.I just want the 2mg I will take with me the Ashton manual.

      Just got back from the Dr., yea beat the agoraphobia went without an escort feel petty good.Minor victory but major for me!Just the first visit to draw blood did not see Dr. yet so full of hope!

      Carol I saw you have agoraphobia. I have it also. I don't go anywhere but to doctor visits. I have OCD and bad heart palpitations with the anxiety. What medications help you?

       Well I only took the xanax for sleep for anxiety. I just fight the agoraphobia and force myself to go out I also have a part time job but because of wd I might have to quit. But some years ago I had it really bad I took Effexor it was a miracle my anxiety and agora went away in about two weeks I was normal again I can no longer take it or any ssri.Word of warning they are very strong not everyone can handle it. Good luck
