Switching from citalopram to escitalopram

Hi there 5 weeks ago I switched from citalopram to escitalopram. I was on escitalopram for 10 years with a couple of 3 month breaks but last year had a major melt down so I was put on sertraline for 3 months then venlaflaxne then citalopram and all weren't great and gave me horrendous side effects so I'm back on escitalopram! Side effects are better but mornings are still a struggle! I take 10 mg every morning about 7am and an hour later I feel a bit spaced out and nervous and a bit of nausea and a bit shaky this does wear off however around lunch time and by evening I feel as nothing is wrong with me! I also have lack of motivation until lunch time but I can't remember feeling like this last time I was on them! I know 5 weeks is early stages and I've had a lots of swapping around meds in the last year but I just want to stop feeling like this and stop thinking about it all the time!

Anyone else experienced this?

    I'm on week 5 now and having a few ups and downs more good days than bad ??

      Hi don I'm on week 9 and not to bad I'm seeing a life coach as well and completely changing my diet and cutting out sugar which is helping. Just trying to look after myself better xx

    yes, I am tapering off escotalopram now because of the morning anxiety. I am trying Trintellix now too early to tell. My stomache already feels more relaxed. Best of luck you are not alone.

      Is trintilexx better? I am on Pristiq and 450 of lithium at night and due to severe depression crying spells plus anxiety my mother gave her 10 MHz of Ecitalopram. Now I am at 20 mg. bi take it in the morning, but I have not libido and that is not me at all. It's hell for me. And it has been a struggle for my husband to get his libido up and finally he is up with it after years and years. We are working on our marriage so I need my libido back and strong. This depression this whole year has almost killed me.

    hi

    recently been on 40mg citalopram for 10 years on an off

    recently i have had major set backs in life and fell into hard depression

    i have now been put on 30mg citalopram and 10mg escitalopram

    they will slowly ween me of citalopram.

    im having really bad days in 2 week iv had 2 good days

    but the ITCHING is unbarable

    anyone else had this
