I am happy for you! The problem is I have reason to believe the tablets were contributing to mood swings and irritation of the slightest thing. Added to this I have recently detoxed from alcohol their effects are now beginning to manifest property both good and bad

Yes I have known some meds don't suit so maybe a good idea to try something different. See how you go .what you going to lose ? But what I have learnt over 18 months is only deal with one thing at a time . be around happy people .like the saying goes ,birds of s feather flock together. Don't be by people who are sad and boring .!!

And what ever is going on in your life take a good lokk in the mirror and taljvto the reflection and say " I am more than this I am going to get better and I will be get though this .and keep saying it every morning and every night .I promice you .it helps .

    Hi Simon,

I have suffered from depression for around 16yrs if not longer but it has only been in the last 10 months that I regonised that I needed help as I was burnt out emotionally and pyshically and everything I had experienced to date had finally caught up with me. I have been signed off work for that last 6 months which only added to my hopelessness. In addition to that I had never taken anti depressants before. The thought was daunting but I was perscribed Sertraline. Started on 25mg for 14 days then moved to 50mg. Was taking 50mg for 2 1/2 months but hated the side effects. I was advised that normally you're GP would start you on 50mg then move to 100mg for a period of 6 months minimum to allow it to worl properly. They started me on a lower dose purly because I had never taken them before. I felt exhausted, suffered insomina, lack of appetite, there were days I felt good, but the bad out weighed the good. My GP suggested that I stop talking Sertraline and try Citrolpram instead. Start with 10mg move to 20mg. I didn't want to do this so lowered the dose to 25mg of sertraline for the last 2 weeks. Initially for the first week I felt great! Got my appetite back, no palpatations, sweating etc But! the 2nd week brought me crashing down. I have not taken anything for 7 days and I will not lie, it has been tough, I have been very tearful. So I will try Citrolpram starting next Monday and see how that goes. I know I have a long journey ahead to get well again but determined to give it a go. Everyone is different but our feelings of self worth remain the same. I truly wish you all the best, we will get well again because we want to. Peace x
