Switching from Fluoxetine to Lexapro and terrified!

Posted , 2 users are following.

I’ve been struggling the past 6 months with severe anxiety, depression, and avoidance behaviors due to the fear of having a panic attack.  I was on Fluox (Prozac) for 18 years when suddenly I developed GAD.

My Dr. switched me to Zoloft which I tried for 6 weeks. Zoloft did not work for me. I went back to Fluoxetine and increased my dose hoping that may help... several months later I am still in the same place, actually getting worse.

My Dr. now wants me to start 5 mg Lexapro for 14 days then increase to 10mg.

I am soooooooo scared! But I just cannot continue to live like this. My world is shrinking and I want to feel good again.

I would love to hear any positive feedback from anyone that has been in my shoes.
