Switching from warfarin to rivaroxaban

I have been on warfarin for 4 months after suffering a dvt but my inr is all over the place so I asked the nurse at the anti coat clinic about switching to rivaroxaban
She said I would need a blood test first. I went to my doctor yesterday (for something else) & mentioned stopping warfarin, he wrote me a prescription for rivaroxaban right there,
Told me to miss my dose of warfarin today then start rivaroxaban tomorrow. I'm supposed to have my blood tested tomorrow for my inr so rang the clinic to cancel & that's it. Is this the usual protocol?
Should I have any other blood tests? I. Happy as no more blood tests but it all just seems a bit too simple. Has anyone else who's changed over done it this way?

Nice, isn't t.
Ask your physician if he would like one final blood test.

Thankyou. i've taken one tablet this morning & will take another at t time
so that's it I'm assuming. Hoping for no side effects & looking forward to a drink over Christmas.
The leaflet that comes with it is a tad scary & the fact their isn't a antidote if you do bleed but
Warfarin just wasn't working for me & I hated the blood tests.

Thank-you. Only on the second day & felt a bit tired
yesterday but that could have been my imagination.

The doctor explained to me that although there is no antidote, it leaves the body really quickly, that is why you have to take it twice daily, in a few hours its gone.
What I am looking forward to most of all is my cranberry juice cocktails this Christmas! A sea breeze - vodka, orange and cranberry juice is my favourite!

Apparently it take 12 to 24 hours to leave your body unlike warfarin which takes days.
My inr was all over the place & I was at the clinic twice a week & was getting so fed up!
I do drink a few times on warfarin bit was always wary so tonight I can drink freely enjoy your vodka
I prefer mine with coke 😁
