Switching to 10 mg escitalopram from 40 mg Citalopram...tomorrow

I've been on Citalopram at 40 mg for five years. It's worked wonders for me. I had planned on being on it forever, but about two weeks ago I noticed some anxiety coming through, and this past week has been awful. We're going to try switching me to 10 mg. of escitalopram.

?I had horrible side effects when I started the Cit, especially insomnia. I'm hoping it's easier this time around since the drugs are so similar. With the Cit, I also went from 0 to 20 mg to 40 mg in the course of one week, which in retrospect was a big mistake.

?I'm sure I'll be posting here in the next few weeks for advice:-).
