Trudy how often did your legs swell? Was it more noticeable on the side of leg? How did your Dr determine it was pockets of fluid were they noticeable as well?

Hi Donna, just a little note, any swelling behind the knee or calf, with pain, should be investigated by a doctor, could be a simple bakers cyst or a deep vein thrombosis, try your Gp if these are your symptoms, xxx

Any unusual swelling should be checked out better safe  than sorry

Hello Steffi no I am not on hrt. This has going on for about a year now I mentioned it to my doctor when I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid he really didn't seem concerned he said maybe its cuz your thyroids out of range but my thyroid is where it needs to be now and my ankle and leg is still swelling it goes down at night when I lay down but swells back up when I get up I Drive for a living I Drive a school bus so I'm sitting for awhile I was just wondering if this could be part of perimenopause

Worth a check up with doc to rule out deep vein thrombosis, esp as its only on one leg.

Please get this looked at. Get a second opinion if you can. If it's deep vein thrombosis it's dangerous. I'm not trying to scaremonger you - please just have dvt ruled out.
