Swollen down inside of gums near tonge

Can anyone help !! Long story . I had a tooth out back in December and then ended up with a dry socket . When it wasn't healing they decided to go back into it and smooth the bone ! Socket is now healing but the results came back from the tissue biopsy that there had been some foreign body in the site ! This was when they put a zinc oxide dressing into the socket and it set like cement and they had a hard time getting it back out . Ever since then I have had inflammed gums on the inside of my gums near the tongue and it throbs and feels massive with swelling to me !! Dentists dental hospital say they can't see the swelling just some inflammation . I have the pain swelling all the time can't rest my tongue down properly !! Had many antibiotics etc . Dental hospital now say they think it's nerve related !!! I'm at my wits end with it all. I also have dry tongue and roof of my mouth and a sore red throats all on the same side as the swollen gums etc ! All I keep getting told is there's no infection !! And hopefully it will sort it self out !! Anyone else had this ?

You know I only give a doctor or in this case a dentist a few chances to get the problem fixed. I think it's time you move on. You may need to see a specialist. Perhaps a maxillofacial surgeon. This problem may be beyond the dentist's score of education.

I'm guessing you are not in the US. But regardless you are going to then have to get pushy. Have they said what they are going to do about the nerve? It's not like nerves go away. I'm sorry that I have no other advice but if you can't go somewhere else then your only choice is to get firm with them.

Hi, I didn't see this up to date post.

    ?(I am also U.K based)

?I was offered the option of smoothing down the jawbone, my socket healed over quickly in two and a half weeks, but I'm still getting prone to the infections.

The other option, because of the coronectomy I had, was to remove the root.

?I don't want the root removed after three months, if never.  I was told you shouldn't get the infections any more, thats why I opted for it, as well as them telling me it was close to the nerve.   Also, when I had it done I was sure I had an infection in that site, but at the follow up review, surgeon who did it, said it wont infect the root, we remove the root if it is infected though.  Doesn't make a lot of sense, the outcomes of all his are making me very worried, I don't want to see him again, his NH and i know i dont have alot of choice, but i had read, someone with ten or more years of performing coronectomies, have the better chance of a patients healing, and I had someone i shouldn't have had, who i skipped to see someone else, operate. I was given option last minute to cancel, how does anyone know about the problems later?   He doesn't even believe in dry socket? and he never added to my knowledge, that he put an antibioticdry re absorbable tissue in place over the root either to make the healing better.  So, because my roots are twisted, but not fully around the nerve, I am unsure of how to proceed with this mess I'm in.  The right side needs to come out, and I have thought of just going for the full surgical whack, but am afraid, and this forum doesn't seem to have any of these problems, listed here in the U.K or anyhere else.
