Swollen Face

Hey

I've been on Citalopram 10mg for 4 wks now

I have noticed some differences from the way I previously was before I started them.. still have side effects

I no this might sound very vain but everyday I take a photo of myself as my eyes have been quite sore  and strained so I compare each day the difference to see if they've improved..

I've noticed the other day that my face was very swollen an lips... could this be an allergic reaction?? I'm also very itchy too.

Any Advise would be great smile

    Hi Cheryl

I had itchyness on face from 10mg 1 week and for the last 4 weeks on 20mg. I'm not sure could if it's allergic reaction but I've heard others say they have similar and it goes away after 6 - 8 weeks. My advice and what I am doing is sticking it out till 8 weeks and if still bad side effects will maybe switch or lower or upper dose depending on what doc says. Maybe see doc as they probably know more though.

Sorry can't be more help but wishing you good luck x

Hi Cheryl.  Some people do get an allergic reaction to cit, other than 'side effects', I did and was advised to stop taking them.  Please tell your doctor and have him make sure it's not an allergy as that could be dangerous, if it's a side effect it will subside eventually, if you're allergic to it, it won't get better and you'll need to change meds.
