How long have you had this.   I have had a large swelling in my next for about 6 to 8 weeks now.  Have been to the dr 6 times.  Had an ultra sound and a specialist look at it.   Everyone has told me its because I had a severe sinus infection.   I still am not comfortable with that decision as after 4 antibiodics it's still not gone down any    I have an appointment with a ENT specialist Tuesday.  It's still scares me

I do not have any symptoms of anything other that the large node on my right side of the neck and the sniffles.

Mine is pretty big on my right side.  It very firm.  But if I relax my neck it does move a little.  Mine is about an inch long or 2.5cm or so    It is a little tender my not real bad.  And same situation here I have never ever had them swell before.  I also have a wisdom tooth in that side that needs to be removed as well.  Although it doesn't hurt I've been told it is likely part of the problem.  I am seeing an ear nose and throat specialist.

I am scared but early detection on any level means more success in treatment whatever it may be.    Although I show no signs of anything.  If rather got to a few doctors to help me ease my mind.

well it sounds like you really might have a throat infection and is probably harmless. but still if it worries you, you might get it checked by a doctor, just for your peace of mind smile

What I'm woundering about is when people put there head abit back can they feel anything next to There neck muscles?

Evening everyone.   As I stated I went for another appointment with an Ear Nose and Throat specialist yesterday.  And finally.   After an exam.  He concluded this is not a swollen lymph.      I was scared to death to go and ever more afraid of what I would find out.    As it is.  I have worried my self sick wondering what could be wrong.   Even though no other doctor and or medicine would take care of.

After my exam.   I actually have a branchial cleft cyst.  Which a rarer condition.  Usually something in smal children but does affect adults.  For those of you who have been dealing with supposed swollen lymphs that antibiodics do not effect or that continually stays swollen.   This may be something for you all to check out.

In saying this I am still scared as I will be having surgery on December 1 st to remove the cyst    This is not a serious surgery and will take between 30 and 45 minutes.    I am still nervous as I have neve had surgery of any kind.  But now the fear of something serious and all the anxiety and worry will be out to rest

I was afraid of what the worst could be but I kept pushing to find some answers and now an outcome.   I hope for al of you that you can find an answer to what you are going through as in the short period I have seat with mine was long and exhausting enough.

Please don't give up.   If you swelling is similar to what mine was.  It is sure something you want to check into.

I do have painless Level II left neck lump(3CM) from 6 months ,After Ultrasound with FNA,Cat Scan,MRI scan identified it as possibly branchial cleft cyst and recommended surgical excision. As per branchial cleft cyst surgical procedure ,entire tract of BCC required to be removed otherwise it will reoccur. Please add comments if any body having similar experiences if any
