Hi Tina, yep this happened to me 3weeks po keep an eye on it as my wound actually broke open I infact had slight infection in it due to my taking blood thinning tablets. The blood had congealed around the last stitch it did put me back 2/3 weeks. Only begining to see an end I am now 9weeks po. Ice is a good thing and keep it elevated. Good luck Pauline

Swelling will go down. I found that the more I was up and active, the more I noticed the swelling. Elevate legs and ice worked for me. Happy recovery-trish

At 3.5 weeks I broke the 5000 step mark with a cane today.

Had swelling around the hip after this.

I find my phone doesn't keep count properly, due to using sticks. Some days it only shows 500 steps, even though I have walked round the block, which is nearly a mile and been up and down the stairs a load of times.

Oh yeah!  I'm small but for at least two weeks or more I had a Kim Karsashian hip/butt on one side. Keep icing and don't overdo!!  I'm 4 wks po now and both sides are even and I can even wear my normal clothes. Hang in there!!

Thats encouraging I am 6 days po, and KK too on my right hip, bit off a concern as thinking I wouldn't be able to get back into my skinny jeans, and stuck with this huge lump on my side... I,m keeping active, and then told not to "overdo it" .. walk or not to walk
