SWOLLEN KNEES FOR ALMOST 10 MONTHS Ankylosing Spondylitis

Just stopping in for some feedback on Cortisone shots in my knees . Since being diagnosed the majority of the pain is in my knees and SI joints as well as some stifness of my neck in the mornings. The stiffness has responded WONDEFULLY to the NSAIDS.but the SI and knees joints pain are a different story. I am currently student and on my feet all day when it comes, I can't afford to be in pain all day.Just wondering if those of you that had the shots can weigh in. How was the procedure? How long were you out?

I have had quite a few shots in my knee and hips and have gone to work right after.  They numb the area so that you don't feel the needle.  I would get relief for 5-6 months.  You will be okay.

Before you inject the knees, try getting injections in your SI joints. You may find that injection calms all your lower body aches and pains for a while. It does for me. It may not work so well for You, but it's worth a try.
