Swollen labia minora

this is the second time in 3 years that one side of my labia minora has become enlarged and swollen and painful. It is not a bartholin cyst. The first time the doctor said it might just be a swollen gland, this was before my LS diagnoses.

It's one lip directly below clitoris that is swollen, with one part that looking rounder like a blister. Last time i sat in the bath for several days on and off until it burst (sorry gross). it got to be a bit smaller than the size of a marble. Is this a symptom of LS?

its humiliating going to get it checked out by a regular doctor about this (wont get to see my gynecologist for a few months) 😦

Hi Maple, I am sorry about the experiences you are having. I am also wondering why you have had no other responses on this - probably things are not functioning on this web site as they should do again.

So, here is my perspectives on what you say:

Unfortunately LS is a really difficult condition to deal with, and it would be much simpler if we could all put the same remedial practices in place and got the same result. LS is not like this, however. We can base what we try on what others have recommended and it would seem to me that you have not found the right kinds of remedies that you can go to each time and you experience something like this and know that it will give you the relief you require when you need it.

So as you suggest, you may have something other, or in addition to LS going on. And yes, I know what you mean when you say going to the regular doctor is a very negative experience.

I am wondering therefore whether you have seen a Vulval Skin Disorders Specialist? Many of these, for women's skin problems, in particular are from a Gynae background then specialise in skin problems, or are alternatively, from a Dermatology background and then go on to gather additional expertise in issues related to genital skin health. Is this something you have looked at finding such a specialist?
