Swollen overhang after C section style open myomectomy

Posted , 20 users are following.

Hi everyone

I am 11 weeks post op after having 13 fibroids removed. The largest was 10cm and they were over a 1kg.

My concern is that I still have a sore to press overhang. It hurts more when my bladder and bowels are full. In fact the bowels filling still hurt inside quite a lot so am still taking a stool softener (not that they are working as well as they were).

I am also still numb around the scar but mostly down into my groin. Am thinking of booking another appointment with my specialist but don't want to waste her time if this is all just normal.

Have read some places that 3 months is the general healing process but I really don't feel like this is all going to have disappeared by next week.

If you are past 11 weeks I'd really like to hear the realities of your experiences.

Thanks

**Hello, I am 14 weeks post I had an abdominal myomectomy having 14 fibroids removed & i'm very sadden by the way my stomach look its still huge & I still look pregnant I though after having my surgery that my stomach was going to go back to normal & is did not I have a mommy pooch a I never had kids. Im still a little numb around my scar area & its a little hard, but far as anything else I healed pretty good, & fast my first period after surgery was much better than it was & less painful than it was when I had the fibroids ughh. Im still happy that I got them removed because I do feel much, much better i'm just left with a huge belly & that under stomach hang with a Csection scar, but my scar looks really good, & it healed really good. but for some reason my stomach still look swollen at the bottom & pokes out. I say I still look 3months pregnant & when i had the fibroids my uterus was the size of a 7 month pergancy. My doctor told me that my uterus may not never go back to its original size, so im looking it getting lipo suction because I dont like this mommy pooch at all.

      hi Tonya,

i know this is a long shot since your post was many years ago. just wondering if your overhang/mommy pooch resolved itself?

I'm 4 weeks post op. Had one large fibroid removed. My belly (btw belly button and the incision) is still tender and painful and swollen with an overhang. I thought i would be back to 'normal' but going by your posts looks like its going to take time.

On the plus side, i've lost some weight yaay!
