Swollen painful knee 10 moths after Total knee Replacement. Lymphodemia?

Yes, you read correctly. 10 months after my TKR surgery I am still in pain and my knee and leg are swollen almost as after my surgery. I did everything the surgeon suggested. PT, at home exercises. Faithfully. I have not had one pain free day since surgery.

Saw a second opinion surgeon yesterday for the 2nd time and he no ideas, except reconstructive surgery....a do over. How can he even do this when he has no idea what is causing this?

Before my surgery a Cardiologist told me I had Venus Insufficiency and did the following tests. He claimed my blood was pooling in my feet and not recirculating

Radio Frquency Oblation very painful

Left leg Ultra sound

Verithina Failed. Every time he placed a needle in my leg it spasmed. 20 tries then aborted the procedure.

I read in an article here Venus Insufficiency , Knee surgery, and sleep apnea which I have can cause this. If any or all of these are the cause what can be done about it and what kind of Dr. do I need to see? Any help greatly appreciated. I am in the U.S.

Why would the doctor try do a Verithina? That is to treat varicose veins. Have you thought about a Cat Scan or a MRI? Did your doctor suggest a treatment for Venus Insufficiency? This is the recommended treatment for it. Treatment includes compression stockings, elevating the legs, and moisturizing the skin to prevent cracks. In some cases, surgery may be needed to improve blood flow. Just how is your surgeon answering any questions you may have about all the swelling and pain. ? He can't just ignore what your going through. I had TKR 8 weeks ago and my knee is still very sore when I get up from a chair or bend it a certain way. My surgeon says it takes about 6 months to totally heal. My 1st. TKR 5 years ago was a nightmare but I didn't have any of your problems. Please keep asking questions until you get the right answer. Bless you and your healing.

The Dr. that did those tests was a cardiologist. He wanted to do BOTH legs. These procedures were done BEFORE my surgery. I tried the compressions socks after, they made my legs swell even more. First pair I had to GLUE them up to the top of my legs. The glue ripped my skin. Second pair never stayed up. They rolled down cutting off my circulation. The surgeon that did my TKR says this happens in 1 out of 10 surgeries. He has no idea. The 2nd one is the 2nd opinion Ortho Dr., has no ideas ether except reconstruction....how do you do a surgery not even knowing what is wrong? I will NOT have another surgery. I have a friend that her daughter had both her knees done with these procedures (not the TKR) and they swell and hurt from it. She has to do water therapy twice a month, and has to exercise or her legs hurt and swell and have massage on them. . She was diagnosed with Lymphedema . She thinks I have it too. Don't know what kind of Dr. I need to assess my leg and tell me if I have it. Do You? I just know it is getting progressively worse. I have no energy, still can't do stairs normally, bending over hurts my knee. No one but the folks here really understand or care about how I hurt. So greatful this forum is here.
