Swollen stomach?

Hello everyone, I have been busy trying to lose weight to help towards any surgery I could have later in the year.  Does anyone know if there is any connection with swollen stomach and prolapse?  Although I am losing weight well, my stomach continues to stay the same, swollen and bloated all the time.  I was hoping it would start to go down with the weight lose but I now think there is a connection?

Hi Caroline.  I got sober in 2007 and put on 4 stone. I  do believe that for me the weight gain did not help the prolapse.  I have the same, a tummy that makes me look 8mths pregnant.

Well done loosing weight. I hope to start my diet soon after I have fully recovered.

Thank you.  It seems my stomach is flattish in the morning, but by evening it's totally blown up!

Might be an idea to go and check that with the Dr.  Sometimes my tummy feels rock hard.  I also have stomach ulcers.

Hi Caroline,it seems on this site that bloated stomach and prolapse go hand in hand,I know that mine is bloated,I have an anterior prolapse, waiting for surgery. I have had surgery for both an anterior and posteria prolapse during the last 3 yearsand had bloating with both.

Been to see consultant, as people have said it is quite common.  Lets hope it goes down at least a bit after surgery.
