swollen tonsils

Ok, so I have a lot posted here, You guys can read my previous postings to see how this all started.

I thought I had acid reflux but now im having doubts. I went to the doc around Feb 1, 2015 and she looked at the back of my throat and said I have swollen tonsils, I went there because I first noticed that they were indeed with white spots.

I took a zpack and went back about 2 and a half weeks later. She said the white spots went down and also the swelling. I have had throat problems for around 2 years now. A pressure on the sides of my jaw, a bitter / metallic type odd taste, headaches now radiation, I feel like my neck glands are swollen and my palate feels pressure too like a burning mouth.

This all started approx 2 years ago after I took some antibiotics.

Does anyone have a similar experience? I will wait a few months but if the swelling doesnt go down or I feel the same, I will consider getting the adenoids and tonsils removed. I hate to have surgery and especially if it doesnt cure the problem but Im getting anxious to try something. This has been bothering me for a long time.

    Hi Jay

I can understand you bcs I have the problems since 3 yrs plus and I have done tonsillitis surgery abt 5 months ago but it didn't help my throat, only yes those white spots gone.. The surgery helped only 5 out of 100..So very minimum. Went to twice to one specialist but no help found. Recently I have been to another specialist. Most important thing he did to me was physiological. I was extremely worried abt my throat. I was thinking that some serious thing might be the cause. But he saw my thtoat with some special tube and nose. He finally concluded that my throat has been irritated around the voice box area. He said most possibly its ur stomach, then nose. I cant breath through my nose. Its always blocked. Two yrs ago I have done a surgery bt, something like deviated septum, sorry for spelling bt still its bkocked. So the specialist told me nose and stomach cause ur throat problems. Since then im feeling 80% better and has given me two nose sprays. After two months I may go bk to him to see if he can gve anything else that makes it more bettr. Though I have a few stomach problems, like stomach burns once or twice a day and hunger feeling in the stomachz through ur full.. Even if u dont have any stomach symptoms, it still causes throat problems if acid is produced more than normal. Many people have this problem, this is nothing yo to worry. Dont worry bcz if u do, believe me, it causes more prblem. My throat problems was more physiological than clinical..

    So hope u get better

thanks for your reply. often the internet can make someone more worried. there is some type of info backing up whatever symptom someone to be potentially serious. im glad yours isnt. Not to put down your symptoms but I mean Im glad your not terminally ill.

So recently Ive been feeling my tonsils with my fingers, Im not sure how they should feel because I never tried when they were normal.

I tried feeling my adenoids too which seem off but again I have nothing to compare it to.

I will have the ent next month take another look at them, Ive been going to the ent for many years but I do not recall having swollen tonsils but around Feb 1 2016 is the time I first noticed and so did my primary care doctor.

I wish I could post a pic of my tonsils on here. They are state one for swolleness.

I have developed headaches as of the past few months. I believe they are from the swollen tonsils or adenoids. I feel jaw pressure and also pressure from my soft palate. I have a weird taste in my mouth.

I have had an off feeling in my throat for about 2 years. At first I thought it was reflux but now do not believe thats whats causing all my symptoms.

I have a tight throat also but do believe its  cause by these tonsils/ adenoids.

I had a reflux test that came back normal.

I think I want to have these tonsils removed. Something needs to be tried because I have been dealing with this problem for 2 years.

Antibiotics I do not believe will help. I took a zpack not too long ago.

Actually this all started 2 year ago after a round of antibiotics.

I never paid attention to my tonsils nor even knew what they looked like until a month ago when I noticed them and went to my doctor who always says im fine and this time she also agreed that they were swollen.

They havent gone down in about a month even after the antibiotics.
