Swollen Vulva burning feeling

This all started about 3.5 weeks ago.

I slept with my ex unprotected - I got a kidney infection which I was given 7days of antibiotics for. Shortly after I then got a mild case of tonsilitis which again was given a short course of 5 days antibiotics. Last week wednesday I then had itching in the genital area which seemed like thrush to me and would make sense. By friday the itching had stopped but my vulva has been red & tender. So i went to the local GUM clinic who did a swab and said there was no sign of thrush but then prescribed me another tablet to take for thrush and daktacort.

i was very concious of all the tablets i've taken recently so decided to see of the area would clear up by itself. 4 days later and still no better.

Just to note, after 2.5 weeks I did a home STI kit which has come back negative.

i have diagnosed genital HSV1 for 12 years but there are no blisters in this instance and it usually shows in a different place.

is this just a really bad case of thrush? should i take the other tablet?
