Hi,  I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago  I'm

still getting  cramps and diarrhoea  , is this  normal  ?  Anyone else

the same  ?   What do you eat without getting diarrhoea  ?

For me the cramps  are  awful.  it's  not once  and it's over it's  5 or 6

times in a  row.     I'm  scared  I'll never get over it.

It's wearing me out .     I'm sorry you had it too  but glad I'm not on my own .

Did you find it  was  down to what you ate ?

      Anyone  else  ?

I could not really relate it to anything I ate. I just attributed it to the disruption of my digestive sustem.

It does take a while for your system to settle.  Are you getting the diarrhea right after you eat?  Are your stools surrounded in yellow liquid?  If so, that's bile.  Your liver still needs to settle because it now has to work without your gallbladder.

Hi Lynda,    Yes it's  right after I eat  and it is  lots of yellow  liquid after.

Will it get better  or do  I  need  to  take  something  for  it ?

It was the same  before  I  had  my  gallbladder  removed  .        I'm  worried  it  won't

      get better  !

Hi linda:. Yes it is normal. I had my gallbladder out Feb of this year. The cramps will subside eventually. The cramps are from the gas they blow your abdomen up with to separate your organs , to remove the gallbladder. The cramps are from your organs going back into place. As for the eating and the poops, it's normal too. I had the same problem. As your body starts to heal the poops will eventually stop and so will the cramps . Dr gave me some antiinflammatory to help with the pain and cramps. Ask your dr or pharmacist. I was given naproxen for mine. I still get the poops still but not as much.. for awhile, watch the greasy and fatty foods and the main one is the acidy foods. But don't worry, your body will return back to normal soon. Just take it easy and rest..take care.

I’m now 3 months post op and still get cramps. Feels like my stomach is in spasm a lot of the time. Think I’ve only had diarrhoea a few times since the op and that was due to the high dose antibiotics. My stools are still occasionally yellow too. Still need to watch what I eat too as had a bad reaction to eating something that was too high in fat. Some people are lucky and can eat what they want but already know I’m not in that group!

Try to remember you’ve had a major surgery and only 2 weeks in to the recovery. As the weeks go on you will feel more comfortable 👍🏼.

I’ve been taking buscopan cramps tablets and they seem to be helping with the spasm feelings in my stomach. Hope you’re feeling better soon xx
