Hello! I was feeling good for 2 months with minor episodes of heartburn and upper abdominal pain but now I'm in a full blown flare-up...I had a negative EUS in November and this put my mind at ease but now that I feel ill again, all those doubts and fears are creeping their way back in...I have burning pain right below my sternum...sometimes it feels like a squeezing pain, like I've had the wind knocked out of me... My lower abdomen will swell during a flare...I will have gas and belching too...I do have heartburn and take medication for it but during a flare, my heartburn is difficult to control. My stool changes too...it turns green and its formed. I just go more often. Does anyone have burning pain? I read a lot about a stabbing pain on here...also, I ordered enzymes which are derived from pigs and cows...has anyone ordered them OTC and found them to be beneficial? Will they hurt me if I don't have CP???

Thanks...I'm wallowing here... sad

I recently started experiencing burning pain, stomach ache and cramping. The cramping moves to my back at times. I have a lot of gas but bowel movement is once per day or everyother day - loose but not watery and color is normal.

Going through testing now but docs think it is related to stomach acid and gave me prilosec. I started just eating smaller portions, less fat and chewing my food well. The burning went away but still some minor stomach ache at times post eating.

I get my "stomach blood panel" results tomorrow including the two pancreas enzymes. Ultrasound was normal - just showed lots of gas.

So how were your results? Everything ok?

Where do you feel the burning? I have heartburn too so I know what heartburn feels like vs the burning I feel in my upper abdomen...I take Prevacid. I wonder if some of your pain could be from all the gas...I hope you get some answers soon!

Sorry to hear your symptoms are back.

I am still waiting for my lab results. I had a urine test and standard blood panel thay came back normal - good buy not much help in terms of easing my mind.

I am debating on requesting an MRI or CAT scan simply because I would feel better if I can rule out cancer. I understand that is fatal the majority of the time.

Its frustrating because the symptoms we all seem to experience are very general and can be everything from IBS to ulcers to much worse.

I switched my diet to eating 4x a day. Oatmeal morning, eggs brown rice mid morning, chicken grilled with brown rice amd vegie for lunch and repeat this for dinner. My symptoms of pain (burning and stomach ache are gone but gas remains). Not sure if thats good or bad.

Hope you find your amswers soon!

Hi , hope your feeling well, I suffer from CP, you seem to have classic symptoms of pancreatitis, its not a pleasant disease but with help from your consultant should be at least manage your pain and other things

Creon is fantastic for me taking at least 18x2500 per day and with help of pain management apart from bloating I am a lot better than before.

Hope you get the medical help you need

    Thanks. Kevin

Absolutely. That dosage sounds about right. They certainly help keep the pancreas asleep so to speak.

Thanks for replying...what are your symptoms? I haven't been diagnosed yet. Have you ever tried over the counter enezymes? I ordered some from Amazon with the hopes they will help. I feel a little naseous too during this flare up...which is different than last time. I've changed my diet too...but since I haven't been diagnosed with anything and all my tests results are normal, I'm not sure what digestive diet I should even be on...other than lots of fruits veggies, no red meat or pork, low fat and low sugar...I think that covers them all!!! 😊

I had loads of ultra scans over the years after complaining about pain in my right side, nothing showed on scans, then started to have chest pains went for MRI with contrast heart ok but chronic pancreatitis was there to see, Saw Mr Smith at St James in Leeds who put me on Creon and pain relief apart from bloated stomach almost daily I don't have the same very bad pain. Also had a bout of dulvercolitus not sure on spelling that had me hospitalised for a week. Think you really need to see your specialist and get the scans you need, you may have other underlying conditions

      Good luck

      Kevin
