Symptoms come and go?

Hi all, been on here a lot recently and some of you will remember my posts. I was getting desperate recently, due to the 14kg weight loss, nausea, bloating, constant pain under the rib, indigestion, chronic reflux and bowel issues. I have been to a private specialist who said it was quite urgent and ended up in emergency a few weeks ago but discharged as gallbladder otherwise appears in good health via the scan. Still full of mobile stones upto 15mm. However since I went in things have settled and I am eating more! rib pain vanished and only comes mild now and again, nausea and bloating vanished and only had the odd case of reflux ( one on saturday was the worse I have ever had and almost caused a panic attack) Is this normal, do they come and go? as I was getting worse and worse then settled for a few months but since Jan been consistent. Even eating chocolate and pork sausages isnt causing issues!
After my new drs visit after I was discharged she wrote another urgent referal and I have now got a letter saying I am on the highest urgent catogary for gastro, so thats good news but worried now the symptoms are better? or is this a false calm before another storm LOL
normal? or not?

Hi Star,
I do recall your posts. I am glad to know that your symptoms are better, but I believe that your body has been able to sort itself. Remember that once you start creating stones you will keep creating stones.
It is difficult to know what to do, I know. To me, it's better to have surgery while you're feeling well than have to wait while you're extremely ill to get a surgery date, and cope with a tired and depleted body while you're trying to heal...
Best of luck to you! Let me know how you get on! xx

I think I feel better than I did as likely had a stone stuck as 3 weeks of constant rib pain was draining. It is much milder now but has returned

Hi Star! I'm glad to learn that you finally have an appointment. Sometimes gallbladder problems can wax and wane. I think your assumption that you had a stone stuck is correct.
This is why gallbladder issues are particularly miserable and depleting. Things can get better and then suddenly worsen, sometimes in the same day. You never know what's going to happen! I would make plans and have to cancel them because something flared up. I had to stop eating at work because I would become so ill I'd barely make it to the bathroom.
Please let me know how you're doing in the interim--and what happens at your appointment. I think right now you're doing all you can do to cope! xx

Hi Star
Glad to here that your not in so much pain now. Yes gallstones can do this from everything that I've read which is why alot of doctors just monitor you until it becomes necessary to operate, which it may not. Some can go for weeks or months without another attack. Some have a gallbladder full of stones and never have any problems.
Definately go and see your gastro then as least you'll be looked at and the gastro will assess whether you need surgery sooner or later.
Let us know how you get on, take care

Hi Star, its good to hear to've got an appointment now and its not too far away. Yes I know the rib discomfort, it doesn't go does it, I think its that that get me down the most. Mine started last May but thinking back on it it started months or years before but not in such a severe way as I just thought it was my ibs!
Try and keep eating, I've lost loads and even after the op I'm finding it difficult to put on weight as I'm at a weight that scares me.
Keep me updated with how you're doing and take care ?x

At the end of the day Star you've goto take the advice of the professionals, there are hundreds of thousands of these operations happening every year all over the world and despite everything the day of the operation was the easiest day I've had! Just remember to ask your gastro as many questions as you need so that you feel comfortable.
Take care x
