Symptoms of Anaemia

Hello,

 I seem to be struggling with low Iron levels but at the moment my GP is unsure as to why, I am now waiting to see a specialist. In the mean time i am not taking anything because the last time i took supplements i struggled with consitpation. I just wondered if Low Iron can affect mood levels/anxiety?

    My mood is definitely affected. When my iron levels are low I am very tearful and find it hard to make decisions as my brain feels really foggy and overwhelmed.

    I recommend Spatone mineral water supplements - I had the oppositr problem to you. Iron tablets give me horrendous diarrhoea.

    I hope you find the cause and get treated soon.

      Yes can relate very much to the foggy overwhelmed feeling...sorry to hear you suffer too!

      It has been suggested a few times to me about Spatone....i will give it a go!

      At least I know the cause of mt problems and hopefully the anaemia will be resolved after an operation.

      I hope you can alleviate your symptoms.

    Mild iron deficiency anaemia usually doesn't cause complications. However, left untreated, iron deficiency anaemia can become severe and lead to health problems, including heart problems. Iron deficiency anaemia may lead to a rapid or irregular heartbeat. Your heart must pump more blood to compensate for the lack of oxygen carried in your blood when you're anaaemic. This can lead to an enlarged heart or heart failure.

    Iron deficiency anaemia is associated with an increased susceptibility to infections.
