Symptoms worsened in cold weather.

Hello all. I’ve had ME/CFS for a few years now but my symptoms seem to have worsened a lot over the past couple of months. It was exceptionally cold here in the UK last month and, whilst walking even short distances has always been very tiring, I was weakened to the point of needing a walking stick if I left the house. I figured that once the weather warmed up I’d start to feel better. But the weather has warmed up and if anything I’m worse. Very weak, new persistent pains and joint stiffness and total exhaustion to the point where leaving the house is becoming harder and harder. Has anyone else experienced this? Do I just need to be patient and wait for my symptoms to return to their previous level or is it likely these delightful new symptoms are now with me for good? Any advice or shared experiences appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cold weather isn't our friend. I live in Minnesota. Really really cold and it keeps snowing. Warm weather is much easier on the joints. However I think it all comes down to pacing yourself. This crap is so unpredictable. You think you got one thing figured out and then Bam you get hit with something else. I just had a huge crisis in my life out of left field. And stress is my enemy. It takes me right down and then the viruses hit. Don't put pressure on yourself to perform. At times it's easier to work with what you have. If you don't get anything done...well that's life. We are never going to set the world on fire. Our cells do not store energy like healthy people. Keep expectations real. Sometimes I need to stay down for a week or longer to try to store a bit of energy for things I have to do. It helps. Do what you can and screw the rest.
