yes, its very common. make sure its fully investigated but dont worry. i had lots of different tests and all came back negative.

The dipstick test is not sensitive enough. It is an outmoded form of testing that is undergoing review. Ask yr doctor for more sensitive tests.

Definitely ask for a more in-depth, sensitive test. My urogynecologist stopped ordering standard urine culture s/urinalyses because they were always negative. She sends it out to a lab that tests for specific organisms and which antibiotics they're sensitive to and we trust that now. There were three times last year when the dipstick and standard tests were negative but the specimens that were sent out showed raging infections. Good luck!

The lab is called Pathnostics in California. I don't know where you're located but I'm in NJ and my doctor sends the specimen there and she gets results within 5 days. Their website is http://www.pathnostics.com . I hope this helps!

Thanks very much. I am in the UK and it's virtually impossible to find a lab here.
