Tablets made me feel worse

I have had a stomach bug, which then became a urine infection and I was prescribed these antibiotics. Before I started taking these I did not feel too bad and was going to go back in to work. I took 3 over the course of a day and a half and I then felt awful. Very unsteady on my feet, loss of appetite, sick feeling! I have come off them straight away!

Never had a problem with antibiotics in the past and I will never take these ones again! Please to read all the reviews and it is not just me!

    I had a water infection and was prescribe trimethoprim. I took the first tblet at about 12.30 and by 3.30 I had an upset stomach, felt sick and thought carrying my head in my hands would be easier since my neck and head ached so much. Never will I take trimethoprim again and that was only after one tablet.

    I have been taking these tables for 5 day and though the urine infection it was prescribed for is better, I am getting flu like symptoms, headache, fever, loss of appetite.

    I will be calling my gp tomorrow to see if this a reaction to the medicine.

    Hi tarla

    Some of these sound like fairly common side effects to trimethoprim, which should be listed in the leaflet included with your medicine. Once the course of antibiotics is completed these symptoms should disappear.
