i have been on 150mg of Effexor for 20 years. Over that time I have gained 100#. I weigh 225# and even with my doctor's help I cannot lose it. I am afraid to get off the effoxor and my doctor says it will take close to a year. If I miss a dose my withdrawal starts within hours. Nausea, chills, achy, ringing in my ears, crying. I cant stand this weight any longer. When I started taking it I was going through menapause and deep depression. I did not know it was so addictive. Now I am stuck.

ive gained 35lbs since ive started but i changed my diet and cut out all sugars altogether and started working out, first i started by just walking the treadmill and built from there and i was able to lose the weight. they key is to keep track of the calories you eat what types of food you eat and make sure your burning atleast that amount of calories. Its difficult but you need to stay true to it and the weight will come off. its just really hard to stay on track, take a picture of yourself now and then every 2-3 weeks of working hard and eating better take another and use those pictures progress as motivation. the real hard part for me is the diet
