Taken painkillers continuously for over 20 years

due to constant pain with migraine, back pain, shoulder pain etc I hVe been taking prescription painkillers for 20 years. My doc has asked me to cut down as my liver blood reading is high.  I don't know if I can, I'm always aching. Is anyone else in this predicament ?

    Hi there...today is day 12 for me. I stopped Ds HC cold turkey!! It was hard I mean really h a rd!! I wasn't takin for pain anymore..I was doing it to get high. And it was 18 month...not as long as you. Withdrawal was horrendous....good luck.

    I am taking dhc and tramadol for chronic arm pain and i also have severe pain in my knee , i dont really want to continually take pills butthey really help

      Hi Derek. That's fine..but don't do what I did and start abusing them..and taking to get a buzz. I would try not to be on them for a long time. Very addictive and very hard to stop once the addiction takes hold.

    Hi Madeleine I'm in similar position in that my gp has told me I HAVE TO come off diadrocodeine and cut my prescription to less than half yesterday. I am scared of the aches and pains too if I cut down. Hope you are ok. These diadrocodeine pills suck The life out of you..: (
