Taking gluten out of the diet with Fibromyalgia

I am wondering if anyone has tried taking gluten out of their diet. Has this made any improvement to them?

I have a friend who swears that it has made a difference with her fibromyalgia.  I only know that it helps me to not eat wheat when I'm having problems with IBS and gas.  If everything is normal with my gut, and my stress levels are okay, wheat doesn't bother me.

Thanks for r your reply.I had two head injuries last year . The first one I cut my head open and had to have staples. I have been told that gluten and Fibromyalgia can be exacerbated by this.I have gluten by mistake my body immediately thinks it is being poisoned and I get a panic attack. I was o hoSpital for four days last year due to this. Also having had to deal with nearly losing our home of ten years with my kids and be g made redundant!

Hi, I have removed gluten and yes it has made a difference. Then again I have removed all refined sugar and processed foods too.  I certainly feel it even if I just "treat" myself to something I know isn't gluten or sugar free.  I also use hypnotherapy, epsom salts in my bath regularly. If I get pain I use bio freeze. I have yet to find a drug that doesn't give more problems than it solves.  As fibro is different for all of us what works for me may not work for someone else.  Case of trial and error.  PMA (positive mental attitude) is also a great help. Mindfulness is another tool in the box.  I am fortunate in that keeping to this regime I have been able to continue at work and haven't taken a day off sick for over a year - maybe coincidence maybe not. I am not going to change anything just in case!
