Taking Prozac and Venlafaxine together, anyone else on these ?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have been on prozac for many years but due to very stressful events went up to max dose of 60mg . My doc added 37.5 Venlafaxine which I took for a week and then last week he upped Venlafaxine to 75 and decreased prozac to 40 . Am I expecting too much too soon as I thought taking 2 antidepressant at same time would have had better results by now - anyone out there on same meds ????

Thank you for your response Sam. Unfortunately for some people like myself for us to live some kind of 'normal' life we have to rely on medication. I wish it wasnt the case but I for one are glad they are available xx

you have to do what is right for you, everyone is different. i have had. rotten experiences with antidepressants so don't trust them, i don't live in a false world though.

not sure what you mean by living in a false world, but you are right we are all different

you mentioned the real world. i have lived with ptsd all my adult life, but wont rely on drugs. it's ethical it's about putting money into pharmaseutical companies back pockets.

You doctor should not be playing with dosages like that, its good to have a routine and stick to it. Changing dosages from more to less often, can be problematic.
