Taking sertraline

Hello everybody! I first started to get anxiety threw self shock then I had a couple of close friends die then ocd hit me in intrusive thoughts and over thinking I tried to battle this and from help from friends but after 5 years of trying I have finally turned to sertraline 50 mg it's my 2nd day on them and feel numb which I was told it'll get better after 2 weeks.my big question is this.does anybody know if it's better to take your pill in the morning or evening? I've started evening and I like a drink am confused what to do.If I know am gonna be going out for a drink do I still take my pill? Any feedback would be most welcome.thanks nick

    I take mine in the morning, because initially it kept me awake at night. After confirmation from a doctor and pharmacist, yes you can have a few drinks...alcohol does not affect the efficacy, but the combination might make you extra tired, or you could fall. I drink with mine every night

      Thank you iris for your reply.so iris for example am going out this Saturday to a party I will get there for 5pm but I take my pill at 7.45 dunno what to do lol how long you been taking?

      I recommend u put your tablet on your bedside table to take as you go to bed. BUT that does not allow you to over-indulge while you are out.

      Decisions decisions . I'll see if I get any sleep tonight but it's defiantly making my belly and teeth hurt am really not enjoying this.i shall counting for a month as it's slowing my thoughts down a touch.also I'll take your advice on board for when I go out.smile
