Taking Sertraline for 17 days, more anxious?

I'm a 19 year old female, I was prescribed 50mg of Sertraline by my GP for anxiety and panic attacks. I recently went through a traumatic experienece where I had a panic attack for 6 days straight. This panic started 2 days before I started taking the Sertraline. I took some valium to get to sleep at nights but was still very, very anxious during the days, so much so that eventually on day 6, I was taken to emergency as I was in a state. They were unable to do much except give me more valium and tell me to wait the new meds out. I slowly felt better after that (still not even close to how I wanted to feel though). I was told by almost everyone (doctors, nurses, mental health specialists, friends on the same meds) that after 2 weeks on it you start to gradually feel better, but these past three days I've been getting progressively more anxious each day and this is really, really concerning me as I am so frightened I'll slip back into that unbearable state again. Also my appetite had been so supressed I barely eat anything and the thought of eating makes me anxious. I need some support and comfort, has this happened to anyone else?

Almost exactly what happened with me on sertraline wk 2 was unbearable with shakes headache and insomnia, I'd visit your doctor and relay how you feel, I got taken off sertraline and put on fluoxetene (which I don't feel is helping either) but it could for you.

    Hi

I'm just past week 2 having gone from 25 to 50mg. The anxiety has definitely risen again over the last couple of days. I was feeling better in the day and now I feel I've gone right back. Night times are the worst for me.
