Taking Zopiclone to the UK

Hello, I live in South America and where I am currently you can buy Zopiclone over the counter without a prescription, which is very useful for me as I am a very bad sleeper. I'm not currently taking it but I do use it for nights when I am travelling and not sleeping in my own bed, or for when I want to go to sleep on planes or buses, or when I need an early night and stress isn't letting me sleep. I'm sure people who have sleeping problems will be able to relate to this and also appreciate that I only take them when I really do need them.  Anyway, I am wondering when I go home to the UK in June if I should bring some Zopiclone with me to tide me over for a few years as it will be cheaper than getting it on prescription over there. I only take about 1 every 2 weeks, so I'm not talking about enormous quantities here.. I was wondering how many packets would I legally be allowed to transport into the UK without getting them confiscated, or can I bring any at all? I only want helpful advice about this. Thanks.

I wouldn't have thought you would be able to bring a lot over with you as it is a controlled drug over here so I believe ,would be interesting if any one knows the answer ,sorry I'm not much help ,but your question has got me curious

Hi lindeymarshall.     I would bring a supply with you as they are a class c drug now, which means doctors will not prescribe them anymore.  You have to have a very good reason now to get any.    Just bring a packet with you and put them in with your other toiletries.  Don't see any reason why they should search you.  Things have really tightened up here now.

I wouldn't as if your bag is searched and your found to be in possession you COULD get

a criminal conviction as it is a class c drug

and you need to have a licence.

They are currently in the process of

stopping internet sales of zopiclone also.

    I hope this helps

If stopped by Customs, your in trouble. They were just slapping hands an confiscating it, they now take it a lot more seriously (I think the Daiily Mail found out, so they ha to act!!) Now, while the sniffers are really traine for Benzos (they'd be there all night off a plane from LA), there is nothing to stop a routine search. So, it depends on how many you think you'll need?

If it were me (and has been), posting them on ahead is the best way and if it's to a mates house, put a fake name on it and whatever you do, just send it regular post in an official looking package.
