Talo Navicular fusion 12 months ago and now in pain!

I had a Talo-Navicular fusion in the middle of June 2018 which was a total success. A couple of months ago however I started to get a severe pain on the opposite side of my foot. I stuck with it as I thought it was just because I had started to exercise gain but its got more severe.

Today I went back to see the consultant who said that one of the diagonal screws placed in my foot is irritating a bone in my foot causing the pain and he has booked me in for further surgery to remove all the plates and screws from the fusion.

Has anyone else had their ironmongery removed?

i was recomended that type of fusion but decided to get a second opinion. he did say they isually stay in and bery rarely cone out unless it is causing a issue...

were you able to get back to jogging and running, and hiking? etc? my concern is not being able to do those things.

Hi the fusion was very successful. Its just unfortunate that I have had this screw causing me pain. I don't run but have been back walking, swimming etc. There is no problem at all with the op once everything has fused. I was told I wouldnt be able to walk on very rough ground but as a railway photographer I am still walking on the railway and over rough ballast etc with no problems.
