Anyone suffered from dizziness after taking tamsulosin.I'm worried to keep using it although a trip to the bathroom 3-4 times in a night are annoying to say the least

I do have some dizziness if I get up suddenly. I never had that before until I started taking Tamsulosin. I still think the not getting up in the night and generally a better stream outweigh that side effect. Just be careful.

im having that issue as well. its called orthostatic hypotension. its a common side effect, and will stop once you stop taking the medicine .

thanks for replies guys at least i'm not the only one who is having this trouble. It's good to know that the dizziness is not permanant but as far as I can gather you only get relief as long as you keep taking the medicine. As a matter of interest how severe has your dizziness been.My worst was losing balance when I was bending down in the kitchen

My dizziness is usually when getting up from the chair too quick. But it usually passes pretty quick. I have been having some drowsiness since I started the med and obviously so has Pete. Another side effect I guess I hadn't thought about. I do wake up several times in the night but not to go to the bathroom., but just wake up. Not sure if the Tamsulosin has anything to do with that too.

I found I suffered from dizziness when standing up but only for a week or so after taking it then your body should get used to it. My problem with it is fatigue that doesn't seem to go away after time, but this is only noticeable on a harder day than normal.

My dizziness when standing was not a major issue just a slight head spining .

I am a pharmacist and had bph problems. Doing well now after focal laser ablation. I was on flomax for many years, even 2 per day for a long time.

    YES, it does cause....

    1. Dizziness
    2. lowers blood pressure sometimes
    3. very like to cause retrograde ejaculation
    4. tiredness

have you tried to split your dosage? 0.2 instead of 0.4 mg. that's what I do. no dizziness no tiredness but I still have retrograde 12 hours after taking the half dose. no retrograde after 12 hours.

Bill24813 - Are splitting a pill into two or is it a capsule?

if the pill is scored in the middle then you should be able to split it. if it's not scored then you might want to check with your pharmacist. the capsule which is what I have, simply open and split the contents.

Thanks. No score on my pill. No caps available due to supply issue...lol. What would happen if I cut my pill into half - do you know?

I have not had any dizziness issues since starting Tamsulosin but I have noticed a marked reduction of semen when I have orgasm. Is this normal? I seem to be seeing many comments on Tamsulosin causing RE. I was never informed of this when I began taking the drug. I take it daily in a .4 mg dose. I have been taking this for about 5 years. Could my reduced ejaculations be a result of RE caused by Tamsulosin?

yes, you probably are only affected partially. so you're not experiencing dry ejaculation like those with full. RE for me I get the full effects. nothing comes out.
