tapered off remeron way too fast

so my psychiatrist told me to cut my dose in half, and then half again the next week, and keep going until my meds are gone. I took his advice and I think I went WAY to fast. I’ve felt sick all day today, had really bad mood swings, nauseous, brain fog, fast heart rate, chest pains, body pains, sweats, chills. Everything. Dizziness, EVERYTHING. I told my mom I needed to slow down but she said if I don’t drop tonight then I’ll never stsrt my new meds, so I took half of the dose I’ve been taking this week. I woke up in the middle of a panic attack last night and thought I was dying. Anyway, does anyone have any advice? How to deal with the withdrawl symptoms, anything? I’m only 15 and were on the meds for about 3 months

I'm going through the same, I believe I tapered from Citalopram too fast when I moved onto Mirtazapine 15mg.

They said to go from 30mg to 20mg for a week, and then 20mg to 10mg for 4 days and then swap to Mirtazapine. However, I have felt constantly dizzy and feel as if I am having an out of body experience about 3 times a minute, although they are like zaps so only last about 1-2 seconds, although the dizziness, brain fog, raised heart rate and aggression are always there. When I spoke to the doctor they said they were because of me coming on a new medication, but whenever I take a 10mg of citalopram I feel normal in the matter of hours and the feeling of normality lasts a few days, which is roughly the half-life of citalopram. I spoke to them about this also and they said it was the citalopram making me feel like this, rather than the withdrawal!

My advice would be to speak to your psychiatrist and just be blunt and say you don't think your body is coping with the sudden change in medication and agree with them to lower it slower so you can get used to it. It's tough to go through and I completely understand as I am on the same boat with withdrawal. I hope you get over it very soon and that you feel better.

    Hi

WHY are you getting off. Dud not work for you? All withdrawals are Bad. I took Xanax for a long time and it got to the point where I needed more and more.,Finally I,went to the doctor she gave Lamictal, I was on Cymbalta she lowers the dose and gave me Klonopin to offset the Xanax at the beginning it was BAD but now is a little better. I will pray for you. GOD BLESS YOU

Hi Shelby, Could you tell me what your original dose was as you say you were tapered by your doctor too fast? It would help me have a rough idea of how long my withdrawal symptoms will last. I was taken off 15mg to 0 immediately as doctor said I was on the lowest dose and she was putting me straight onto Amitryptyline another ad. Would really appreciate your info- thanks.
