Tapering Off Fluoxetine 20mg Capsules

Hi, just wanting some advice on how to come off Fluoxetine 20mg (1 capsule per day) very slowly. My doc has recommended dropping one dose per week per month, but would like to hear from people who have actually managed/been through this. I've only been on Fluoxetine for about six months - results have been good. I'm not in a hurry - just want the least possible disruption to my life. Thanks

Tapering no more than 5% every 2-4 weeks. Liquid fluoxetine if available. See fluoxetine should be illegal Facebook. Ann Blake-Tracy also. Doctors are clueless on tapering with the least side effects and withdrawals.

Thanks. Unfortunately I only have access to the capsules which makes this nearly impossible. I think I may be able to switch to tablets which you can cost easily- so maybe thats a better option. Any other advise would be appreciated. Thanks again.

There are a few ways doing a liquid titration using a glass ml cylinder and a syringe to remove small amounts at a time

Many YouTube examples. Some use cranberry juice, cranzac. Main thing is slowly and small amounts at a time. The skipping a dose doesn't work. I and I know of many other's that it doesn't. Some Pharmacy's do compounding and will prepare the capsule to the amount you need. This if getting the liquid form from them is not an option

Thanks, going to look into the compounding option - it sounds ideal.
